Can 4 degrees matter that much?

November 29, 2012

Beware when the temperature drops!

Cold Process Roofs can be applied all year round.  However, petroleum products are temperature-sensitive.  When the temperature drops below 75°F, the viscosity, or flow characteristics, of petroleum products changes and is difficult to work.

Roofmaster patented Warm-Master in 1976 as an in-line heat exchange unit to return material to a sprayable viscosity by warming it indirectly.  This eliminates the need for thinning the material with dangerous solvents or scorching it with a direct flame.  The material is warmed as it is pressure-pumped from a material pump through the Warm-Master to the roof.

El Niño Update

September 6, 2012

Supported by the model forecasts and the continued warmth across the Pacific Ocean, the official forecast calls for the development of most likely a weak El Niño during September 2012, persisting through December-February 2012-13

El Niño this year??

June 7, 2012

The evolving conditions, combined with model forecasts (Fig. 6), suggest that ENSO-neutral and El Niño are roughly equally likely during the late northern summer and fall. The CPC/IRI forecast calls for ENSO-neutral conditions through JAS, followed by an approximately 50% likelihood for El Niño during the remainder of the year (see CPC/IRI consensus forecast).
